Political Party Contributions
You may voluntarily designate $2 of your tax to the Election Campaign Fund of a qualified political party as shown on your return, if your tax liability is $2 or more. If this is a joint return, your spouse may also designate $2 to the qualified party of his or her choice. Any contribution you make will not add to the tax due on your return or reduce your refund. Once made, you cannot change the contribution on an amended return.
The qualified political parties are listed on the TC-40, Utah Individual Income Tax Return.
Enter the letter code of your contribution on your Utah TC-40, page 1, in box 3. The taxpayer and spouse may select different political parties, if desired.
